Hexane, molecular formula C6H14, is an alkane containing six carbon atoms.
The density of hexane is 0.672, melting point is -95℃, boiling point is 68-70℃, flash point is -22℃, hexane is insoluble in water, but soluble in ethanol, ether and most organic solvents. Hexane burns very well, and it will take place with halogens.

USES:

3. Used as a reference substance for solvent and chromatographic analysis. Used for refractive index determination, determination of water content in methanol, and also for organic synthesis.
4. Mainly used as solvent. Used as a solvent in cosmetics, mainly used as a solvent for nail polish and other cosmetic cellulose.
5. Used for organic synthesis, as solvents, chemical reagents, paint thinner, polymerization reaction media, etc.
